The best news in this overflowing river of bad news is that Tuxedo are back in business! Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One have dropped a short and sweet EP of their signature boogie bangers. We love the title track ‘Fux With The Tux’ (obviously) but at the same time we can’t resist a good old slow jam. So here is the hot ‘July’. Check out the whole EP.

After bringing us one of our favourite albums of 2015 with Jake One as one half of the boogie outfit Tuxedo, Mayer is back with a fourth solo album.’Man About Town’ sees him taking things back to the blue-eyed soul sound of the 70s and 80s.
Book of Broken Hearts takes a bit more of a Motown swerve on the classic silky smooth sound made famous by Hall & Oats. You’ll recognise the drum machine sound from their famous Kiss On My List that link together much of the record.
The whole album packed with tracks to usher in the summertime. It’s full of optimism … And sounds Californian through and through. Although some of it might be a bit cheesy it all comes from a place of true passion. Mayer Hawthorne knows his stuff. It may not be pushing boundaries but thats just not the point.
Check it out and make sure to go back and listen to his earlier LPs.
