Ric Wilson and Producer Terrance Martin have created a delicious summertime throwback of disco grooves and warm funk. This is feel good music to spin next to Anderson Paak + Dâm Funk. Perfect for a sunny Friday afternoon.
This is a serious dose of 90’s R&B vibe which is so smooth and fun perfect for any mood. Producer CVIRO pairs up with the Australian singer GXNXVS to create a nostalgic tune reminiscent of the gone but not yet forgotten era of Blackstreet as well as Boyz II Men. The vocals are soulful and smooth over the cleanly produced beats.
These two are seriously talented. Watch this space.
I really like the vibes here. I am not usually one for an indie pop record but this soundclash sound has definitely caught my attention. The production is tip top and the vocals are on form, best thing is it is a feel good tune. Em
I have always been a fan of ‘Feel Good’ by Satin Jackets. Recently a new version surfaced including vocals from the lovely Scavenger Hunt. This is a remix of that new version that I am absolutely loving! Summer beats and vibes have been added on top of the already fire track. Em
Hippo + 47 was one of those random internet discoveries and my first foray into the world of ICHI, an experimental singer-songwriter from Japan now based in Bristol.
In Hippo + 47, ICHI presses all kinds of found objects into his musical vision. The track opens with the glug glug sound of a water bottle being emptied out which becomes the basis for a disjointed and catchy beatboxing beat. Toy instruments, rasping trumpets and a baby crying all form the patchwork backdrop to a sweet half-sung japanese lyric. Its wonderfully eclectic and just great fun part tribal beat and part nursery rhyme. Kind of like tUnE-yArDs but if Merrill Garbus had a freaky friday incident with Sarah Bonito. Great fun.
