Trippy Turtle // Slide
Trippy gives that turtle feel to my favourite Calvin Harris song. Can’t believe I wrote the words ‘favourite Calvin Harris song’ … but Slide is an absolute tune. The turtle version obviously has maximum gunshot.

Beautiful vocal on this track which gets brilliantly screwed up and reworked by Lophiile. Part chill and part banger. Love it.

Oscar King // Bring It All Back
This debut single from new artist and multi-instrumentalist Oscar King and his collaborator is a darkly synthesized slow jam that keeps you coming back.
King’s atmospheric soundscape and smooth vocals has already drawn comparisons to Banks, James Blake and FKA Twigs. His ever shifting sound twists and turns much like the identity of the man himself. This first track is surely the start of a special project from King with much more to come in the future.
Hiskind calls it a ‘highlight amid the dark electro-pop landscape’ and we have to agree.

Nice bit of squelchy Neo-soul here from James Vickery who has previously grabbed himself a Joe Hertz feature before setting out solo. No surprises that its Maths Time Joy on the production on this one. Big sound.

Spacious slow jam coming up from Colouring. Rich strings, subtle synth textures and a catchy hook really make this one get stuck in your head until you keep coming back for more. ‘Heathen’ is out now.

Coldplay – Fix You (Four Tet Remix)
Yes. I’ve posted some Coldplay. But don’t judge too harshly or too quickly. Its a Four Tet remix so everything is fine. Better than that actually – this is a beautifully spacious and ambient remix of an old Coldplay favourite. Just Chris Martin’s voice and Four Tet’s twinkling marimbas and music box.
Some people I play it to hate it but I love it. See what you think.
